SUGAR CRUSTED MAPLE CAKE 
1 pkg. Pillsbury Plus Yellow Cake Mix
3 eggs
1/3 c. cooking oil
1 c. water

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. maple-flavored syrup

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 12 cup tube pan. In large bowl, blend first four ingredients until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at highest speed. Pour into prepared pan and bake 35-40 minutes or until done.

For topping: In small saucepan, heat sugar and syrup until mixture boils and sugar is dissolved. Pour around edges of hot cake when taken out of oven.

COOl upright in pan 15 minutes; turn onto serving plate. Serve warm or cool. Makes one 10 inch cake.
