FILLED COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. lard or shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder

Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg, vanilla and milk. Stir in dry ingredients. Roll and cut into circles. Place a teaspoon of filling on cookie, cover with another cut round and press around the edge. Bake at 375 degrees.

NOTE: May need to add more flour so it can be rolled and cut.

FILLING:

1 c. raisins, ground
1 c. sugar
1 c. hot water
1 tbsp. flour
1 c. nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook raisins, sugar, hot water and flour until thick. Add nuts and vanilla.
