OLD FASHIONED VEGETABLE SOUP 
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. diced raw potatoes
1 c. sliced carrots
1 c. sliced celery, cut coarsely
5 c. water
1 tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. basil, crushed
1/4 tsp. thyme, crushed
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. instant beef bouillon granules
1 can (7 oz.) whole kernel corn, undrained
1 can (8 1/2 oz.) diagonal-cut green beans, undrained
1 can (8 1/2 oz.) sm. early peas, undrained

In large Dutch oven or soup pot, cook ground beef and onion until meat is slightly browned; drain. Add remaining ingredients, except corn, beans and peas. Simmer 30 minutes or until raw vegetables are tender. Add canned vegetables; continue heating 5 minutes. Yield: 11 cups.
