HEDELMA SOPPA (FRUIT SOUP) 
5 c. mixed dried fruit, pitted
2 qt. water
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. vinegar
3-4 slices lemon
2 pieces cinnamon bark
6 cardamom seeds, crushed
1/2 c. Kirsch or Cherry Heering
Sour cream for garnish

Combine first 7 ingredients in a saucepan and cook slowly for at least 1/2 hour. Remove 2 cups cooked fruit and discard the rest. Strain the liquid through double layer of cheesecloth. Add the liqueur and chill.

Before serving, add a few pieces of cooked fruit to each bowl. Garnish with sour cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
