HOLIDAY CHOCOLATE CHIPPERS | |
1 1/2 c. all purpose flour 3/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. packed brown sugar 1/2 c. butter, softened 3 tbsp. sugar 1 lg. egg 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1/2 tsp. almond extract 1 c. semi sweet chocolate chips 1/2 c. coarsely chopped maraschino cherries, well drained 1/2 c. slivered almonds Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease baking sheets; set aside. In a small bowl, stir flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a large mixer bowl at medium speed beat brown sugar, butter, and sugar until creamy. Beat in egg, vanilla and almond extract. At low speed, gradually beat in flour mixture until well blended. Stir in chips, cherries and almonds. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes (for chewy cookies, use the shorter baking time) or until lightly browned. Cool cookies on wire racks. Store in airtight containers in a cool place. Makes about 4 dozen. |
