VEGETABLE SOUP 
1/2 lg. head cabbage, shredded
10 oz. frozen baby okra, sliced
1 can corn
1 can tomato wedges
2 or 3 med. size potatoes, cut in chunks
1 can green beans (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Sm. piece of fat back
1/2 tsp. sugar

Put cabbage, okra, fat back, salt and pepper, green beans and corn in large pot. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Simmer until cabbage and okra are thoroughly cooked, about 1 hour. Mash up tomato wedges and add to pot. Add potatoes and 1/2 teaspoon sugar. Continue simmering until potatoes are done. Add more salt and pepper, if needed.
