GRANDMOTHER'S POUND CAKE 
3 c. all-purpose flour or cake flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 lb. butter (do not substitute)
1/2 c. Crisco
2 2/3 c. sugar
1 c. milk (1/2 Carnation, 1/2 milk)
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
1 tsp. salt

Sift all dry ingredients together. Cream butter, Crisco and sugar together. To this add eggs, one at a time and beat well after each addition. Add milk, flour and flavoring, beat well. Bake in 325 degrees in preheated oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes, turn out of pan and finish cooling.
