BASIC SWEET REFRIGERATOR DOUGH 
5 1/2 to 6 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
3 pkgs. active dry yeast
2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1 c. water

Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. In large bowl combine 2 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast; blend well. In small saucepan, heat water, milk and butter until very warm (3 1/2 minutes in microwave). Add warm liquid and egg to flour mixture. Blend at low speed until moistened; beat 3 minutes at medium speed.

By hand stir in 2 to 3 cups flour to form stiff dough. On floured surface, knead in 1 to 1 1/2 cups flour until dough is smooth and elastic about 10 minutes. Place in greased bowl; cover loosely with plastic wrap and cloth towel. Let rise in warm place until dough is light and doubled in size, about 30 to 40 minutes.

Punch down dough. Let rest on counter covered with inverted bowl for about 15 minutes. Shape dough according to variation desired. See Caramel Rolls.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
