This is by far the best recipe for cranberry jello. It is always requested for Thanksgiving dinner every year.

I have always made this using fresh cranberries. Put a package of cranberries in your food processor and rough chop, stir in 1 cup sugar and chill overnight. Drain cranberries before using and substitute them for the canned cranberry in the recipe above. You won't believe the difference that fresh makes.

The way I have always made this family favorite is to dissolve a 6 oz. box of red Jell-o in a cup of boiling water, add it to the dish to be used, then add, in succession, a can of whole cranberry sauce, broken up, a can of crushed pineapple in its own juice (add the juice, too) and mix in 1/2 c. or more, to taste, of chopped walnuts or pecans. Refrigerate to set. Great with turkey, roast chicken, or ham. T.K.

Just made this for early Thanksgiving dinner -- and everyone loved it! Very easy to make and had just the right amount of jello/cranberry for great taste.
