NANNA'S YEAST BISCUITS | |
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2. salt 1/2 cup sugar 1 tbsp. yeast 1/2 cup warm water 1/4 cup vegetable oil 2 cups buttermilk Combine baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in a bowl, set aside. After yeast is dissolved in warm water, mix with oil and buttermilk. Add liquid to dry ingredients. Mix well. Add flour (dough will be sticky!!). Flour board and roll out to 1/2-inch thick. When putting biscuits on cookie sheet, place them so that they are touching each other. Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes. ENJOY!! Submitted by: Evelyn Brown |
