SWISS STEAK 
4-6 pieces cube steak or
1 1/2-2 lbs. round steak, cut in serving pieces, cubed
Season salt
1 c. flour
1 sm. can V8 juice (6 pack size)
1 pkg. onion soup mix
1 sm. can mushrooms (optional)
1 onion, sliced or quartered

Heat oil in frying pan; mix flour, season salt to taste. Dredge meat; brown on both sides. Place in baking dish with onions and mushrooms. Mix V8 juice, dry onion soup mix; add enough water to make 2 cups liquid.

Pour over meat. Bake at 325 degrees for about 1 1/2-2 hours, the slower the better. Too hot makes it tough. Also can be done on top of stove in frying pan with cover, turned low. Watch either way. May need more water.
