PRETZELS 
1 1/2 c. warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
4 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten slightly with 1 tbsp. water
Course grain salt (Kosher salt)

In a large bowl add dry yeast to 1 1/2 cups of warm water. Stir until dissolved. Add sugar and salt. Add flour. Stir and knead until evenly mixed. Break dough into small pieces and form into a pretzel shape or any other desired shape. (Children like to make letters for their names.) Place on a slightly greased cookie sheet. Brush on egg and water mixture. Sprinkle on salt. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown, about 15 minutes, depending on size of pretzels.
