FREDA'S BANANA - NUT BREAD 
2 c. flour
2 eggs
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. butter or Crisco
3/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 1/2 c. mashed ripe bananas
1/2 c. nuts

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Add dates and nuts. Toss lightly. Cream butter and sugar, beat in eggs and lemon juice. Add dry ingredients to cream mixture alternately with bananas, beating after each addition. Beat until smooth. Bake in 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.
