HOT SPICED APPLE CIDER 
9 c. apple juice or cider
8 med. sticks cinnamon
1 tsp. ground allspice
8 jiggers rum
18 cloves or 1 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 lemon rind, grated

Combine all of the ingredients except for the rum. Boil for 5 minutes; reduce the heat, adding the rum. Cover and simmer over very low heat for another 5 minutes. Serve after straining through a metal strainer. Serves 8.
