ABBY'S CARAMEL BUTTERCREAM FROSTING | |
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, softened 1/4 cup vegetable shortening (Crisco) 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 5 cups confectioners' sugar 1/4 cup milk 1/3 cup caramel sauce (Smucker's or Hershey's) In a large mixing bowl mix butter and shortening with an electric mixer. Add vanilla. Gradually add sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating well on medium high speed. Scrape sides of bowl often. When all sugar has been mixed in add milk and beat at high speed till light and fluffy. Stir in caramel and refrigerate for up to a week. Makes about 3 1/2 cups. Submitted by: Abby Mitchell |
