BAKED CHEESE STRATA | |
2 1/2 gal. day old bread, cut in 1" cubes 4 lb. Cheddar or American cheese, shredded 6 lb. eggs 3 qt. milk 2 tbsp. seasoned salt 2 tbsp. dry mustard 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1. In each of two 12 x 20 x 2 inch pans, layer ingredients as follows: 1/2 gallon bread cubes, 12 ounces cheese, 1 1/2 quarts bread cubes, 12 ounces cheese, 1 1/2 quarts bread cubes and 8 ounces cheese. 2. Beat eggs. Blend in milk and seasonings. Pour about 3 quarts of the liquid over bread and cheese in each pan. Cover with aluminum foil; let stand for 15 minutes to let bread absorb milk mixture. 3. Bake, covered at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Remove foil. Bake until knife inserted near center comes out clean, about 15 minutes more. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting. Cut each pan into 24 squares. Serves 48. |
