ONE CRUST 9-INCH PIE SHELL 
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. cold water
1/3 c. shortening

Sift together the flour and salt. Cut in the shortening with pastry blender until size of small peas. Sprinkle water over mixture while tossing quickly with fork, until particles stick together.

Form into smooth ball. Place dough in waxed paper and allow to chill in refrigerator. Lightly roll the pastry into a circle 1 inch larger than pie plate. Lift loosely into pie plate. Pat our air. Fold edges under and crimp. Bake in oven at 450 degrees for about 12 minutes.
