SAVORY BEEF NOODLES 
1 pkg. wide egg noodles
1 clove garlic
1 sm. onion
1/2 green pepper
1 lb. lean ground beef
8 oz. cheddar cheese, shredded
15 oz. can tomato sauce with bits
16 oz. cottage cheese
2 tsp. wheat germ (optional)
Salt and pepper

In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups water to boil. Add noodles, boil uncovered 5 minutes. Drain. Mince the garlic, onion and pepper. In a large skillet, heat oil and add beef and onion mixture. Cook, stir occasionally. Add 2 teaspoons wheat germ to make it more nutritious. Drain off fat. Add a 15 ounce can of tomato sauce, salt and pepper to taste. Stir in sauce. Remove from heat. Add half of cheddar cheese to cottage cheese. Layer the noodles on the bottom of a casserole dish, then layer cottage cheese mixture on top, then meat and top off with the remaining shredded cheese. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
