GROUND BEEF-BLACK OLIVE
CASSEROLE
 
2 lbs. ground beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 can sliced mushrooms
1 lg. can pitted black olives, drained, sliced
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. chili powder
2 cans tomato sauce
2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar
1 (6 oz.) pkg. wide egg noodles

Cook beef and onion, stirring until beef loses red color; add garlic, salt, pepper, and chili powder. Add mushrooms and liquid, tomato sauce and olives; cover. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add 1 1/2 cups of the cheese; stir until melted.

Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain. Arrange half the noodles in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Cover with half the beef sauce. Repeat layers; sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheese on top. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 20 minutes.

It was tasty, but the 20 oz cans of tomato sauce I used made it too liquidy. Recipe should indicate the size to be used.
