SOUTHERN NORTHERN 
1 lb. great northern beans
1 lg. bell pepper
1 lg. onion
1/2 clove garlic
1 stick butter
1/2 lb. bacon
1 med. pkg. neck bones
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper

Soak beans for tenderness and bring large pot of water to a boil; add beans. Put neck bones on, bring to a boil. Chop all season very fine; add 1/2 to beans and the other 1/2 of neck bones. Let both cook on medium about an hour or until neck bones are tender. Fry bacon; add bacon and 1/2 grease to beans, let cook 1/2 hour; add neck bones and some of the broth into beans and butter. Cook another 1/2 hour.
