EASY SWEDISH COOKIES | |
3/4 c. butter 2/3 c. sugar 1 egg Raspberry jam 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. vanilla Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla and beat smooth. Sift together the flour and baking powder and add to the sugar mixture. Divide the dough into four parts. Roll each part into a strip about 14" long. Place on an ungreased baking sheet, two strips per sheet. (They spread in baking.) Make a depression about 1/3" deep the entire length of the strip with a knife handle. Fill the depression with jam. Bake in a 350 degree oven until light golden brown, about 15 minutes. While warm, cut into bars. Cool before removing from cookie sheet. |
