GREEN BEAN & ONION SALAD 
2 pkg. (each 9 or 10 oz.) frozen cut green beans
1/2 c. thin strips sweet Spanish onion
1 tbsp. sugar
1-3 c. olive oil
2 tbsp. white wine vinegar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
Dash of cayenne
4 slices bacon, fried crisp & crumbled
1 c. thin strips Swiss cheese
1/4 tsp. dried basil, crushed

Cook the green beans according to package directions and drain. Cover tightly and chill. Sprinkle the onion with the sugar, cover tightly and chill.

In a small jar, shake together the oil, vinegar, basil, salt, mustard and cayenne; set aside.

At serving time, turn the beans and onions into a salad bowl; add the oil-vinegar mixture and toss well. Add the bacon and cheese and toss again. Serve at once. Makes 8 servings.
