SEVEN LAYER GELATIN | |
4 sm. pkg. Jello (all different colors) 2 c. milk 1 c. sugar 2 envelopes unflavored Knox gelatin 2 c. sour cream (1 pt.) 2 tsp. vanilla Dissolve 1 package of Jello in 1 cup boiling water and add a half cup cold water. Pour in greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch glass dish. (Each Jello layer takes about 45 minutes and each white mixture takes approximately 20 minutes but use your own judgment and be sure they are all set well before pouring the next layer. Bring milk to a boil in a saucepan. Add sugar and mix until dissolved in half cup cold water. Let this cool a bit (not cold). Add the sour cream and vanilla. Mix all this a little with a mixer so that it is smooth. Be sure to keep this white mixture in a pan of warm water not using it so it does not thicken. When first Jello is set hard pour 1 1/2 cups of white mixture over it. When this is set about 20 minutes, then pour another layer. |
