CHOCOLATE CAKE W/ HURRY UP
FROSTING
 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa (scant)
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. cold water
6 tbsp. shortening
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift dry ingredients. Add remaining ingredients. Mix until smooth. Pour into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.

Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool and spread with Hurry Up Frosting.

Hurry Up Frosting:

1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cocoa
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. milk

Mix all ingredients and bring to a boil. Boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat. When lukewarm beat until thick enough to spread. Store in covered pan.
