PEANUT BUTTER CRINKLES 
1 c. butter
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Sugar, nuts, chocolate kisses, jelly, etc.

In bowl with mixer at medium speed, beat first 6 ingredients until fluffy. At low speed, beat in next 4 ingredients. Shape into 1 inch balls; roll in sugar.

Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes or until browned. Immediately press nuts, kisses or jelly into cookies (I prefer the kisses). Cool. Store in airtight container. Makes 6 dozen. (Bake up to one week ahead.)
