SPOON BREAD 
1 c. cornmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. melted grease or bacon fat
1/2 c. boiling water

Mix cornmeal, salt, sugar and grease; slowly add water to make it workable, then mix well. Spoon into hot skillet and brown on both sides. Serve hot.
