1 c. finely chopped nuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. hot water

Mix these and let cool. Sift together 1 cup sugar and 1 1/2 cups flour. 2 egg yolks Butter the size of an egg

Combine all ingredients and add stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in slow oven (250 degrees) for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Use a loaf pan.
