Peruvian Fried Dough Balls 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup warm water 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 egg yolk In a large bowl, mix together the flour and salt. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolk with 1/2 cup of the warm water until smooth. Then gradually add the remaining water to the flour mixture while stirring until dough forms. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). With wet hands, roll out the dough into small balls and place them in the hot oil. Fry for about one minute per side or until golden brown. Serve with your favorite sauce! |
