SWEDISH KRINGLE 
CRUST:

1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1 tbsp. water

FILLING:

1 c. water
1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
3 eggs
1 tsp. almond flavoring

FROSTING:

1 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. cream
1 tsp. almond flavoring

Mix flour, butter and water for pie crust. Put on greased cookie sheet in 2 long strips 3 inches wide.

To make filling: Put water and butter in pan; heat to boil. Remove from heat. Stir in flour until smooth. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating smooth after each egg. Add almond flavoring. Spread lightly on crusts. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.

Mix powdered sugar, butter, cream and almond flavoring. Spread over cooled kringle. This is a family favorite for Christmas morning. This is more a breakfast, brunch or afternoon tea food.

Serves 8.
