CRANBERRY DATE BREAD 
This is a very good holiday treat.

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup + 2 tbsp. sugar
1 3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg, beaten
1/3 cup orange juice
1/4 cup water
2 tbsp. butter, melted
3/4 cup chopped nuts
3/4 cup chopped dates
2 cups cranberries, cut into halves
1 tbsp. grated orange rind

Melt butter, then cool. Sift dry ingredients. Combine egg, orange juice and water; stir in melted butter.

Make a well in the center of dry ingredients; add liquid ingredients all at one time. Stir only enough to moisten all dry ingredients. Add nuts, dates, cranberries and orange rind. Stir just until blended. (Do not over mix). Turn into prepared loaf pan and spread to corners.

Bake at 325°F for 70 minutes. Remove from oven; cool 10 minutes in pan on cooling rack.
