CRANBERRY - ORANGE BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. raw, firm cranberries, cut in pieces
1 orange, juice & rind
1 tbsp. salad oil
Boiling water
1 beaten egg
1 c. chopped nuts

Sift together twice the flour, salt, baking powder, soda and sugar. To juice and rind of 1 orange and 1 tablespoon salad oil add enough boiling water to make 3/4 cup. Add with 1 beaten egg to dry ingredients. Add chopped nuts and cranberries. Mix and pour into greased and floured bread pan. Bake in a moderate slow oven, 325 degrees, for 1 hour. Store 24 hours before using. Twice this amount makes 3 small gift loaves.
