MARY'S YORKSHIRE PUDDING | |
1 c. flour 1 c. milk 2 eggs 1/4 tsp. salt Mix salt and flour. Add milk gradually, to form smooth paste. Add eggs, beat 2 minutes with egg beater. Cover bottoms of "hissing hot" iron pan sections with rendered beef fat from roast or with butter. Pour mixture into hissing-hot, greased pan to 1/2 inch deep. Bake in a 450 degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes. If a bread pan is used, bake at same temperature for 20 to 30 minutes. If a cast iron skillet is used, bake at same temperature for 20 to 30 minutes. When it is golden-brown on top, it should be cooked all the way thru. Slice and serve with gravy or butter. This usually goes with a roast beef. (Depending on portion size, serves 2 to 4). |
