MOCK SALISBURY STEAKS 
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can beef consomme
1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. basil
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 c. rice, bread crumbs, or crackers
1 chopped onion
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Parsley

Mix together cornstarch and consomme. Add mushrooms, basil, and Worcestershire sauce. Heat until thickens. Mix beef, rice, onion, egg, salt, and pepper. Shape into patties; place in microwaveable dish and cover with wax paper. Microwave on high for 6 minutes. Drain grease; turn patties over; pour sauce mix over meat and recover. Microwave on high for 10-12 minutes. Allow to stand 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley, if so desired.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
