BRAN MUFFINS 
1 c. Kellogg All Bran
1 c. boiling water
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar or 1 c. honey
2 eggs
2 c. bran buds (cereal)
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. buttermilk
Dates, raisins and nuts - optional

Combine All Bran with boiling water and cool. Cream together sugar and shortening. Add cooled All Bran. Add eggs and mix well. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bake at 375 degrees for 16 to 18 minutes.

Batter can be kept in refrigerator in covered container for up to 3 weeks.
