CANDY CANE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. Crisco oil
1 c. confectioners' sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1/2 tsp. red food coloring

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix butter, oil, sugar, egg and extract. Blend in flour. make into dough, divide dough in 1/2. Blend in food coloring into 1/2 of dough, shape 1 teaspoon of dough from each half into 4 inch ropes. Place ropes side by side, press together lightly and twist, curve top to make handle of cane. Bake on ungreased baking sheet. Bake approximately 9 minutes.
