BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
30 med. cucumbers (sliced thin)
10 lg. onions (sliced thin)
3 bell peppers (sliced thin)
1/2 c. salt

LIQUID:

5 lbs. sugar
5 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. mustard seed
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 tbsp. cloves
1/2 tbsp. pickle spice
1/4 tbsp. cinnamon

Put cucumbers, onions, bell peppers and salt in large pan. Let stand 3 hours. Squeeze with hands and add to liquid.

Combine second set of ingredients and bring to a boil. Immediately add the sliced pickles. Bring to a boil, then pack in sterilized pint jars. Before using let stand about a week, then chill.
