2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
4 1/2 c. flour
1 c. butter, soft
2 eggs
4 tbsp. cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract (optional)

Cut butter into dry ingredients until the size of green peas. Beat eggs and cream together. Add to dry ingredients. Mix well. Add flavoring and mix. Dough will be stiff. Roll dough on well-floured board. If using cookie cutters, be sure to keep it floured each time you cut. Grease the cookie sheet the first time only. Bake for 10 minutes in 400 degree oven.
