1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. flour
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. diced apples
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix butter, sugar and egg. Dust apples with flour. Add all remaining ingredients. Pour in 8 x 8 x 2 inch square greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Top with ice cream or whipped cream.
