BRUCE'S HAMBURGER PIE 
1 med. onion, chopped
1 lb. ground beef
3/4 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1 lb. (2 c.) cut green beans or 1/2 lb. fresh cooked beans, drained
1 can tomato soup
5 med. potatoes, cooked & mashed
1/2 c. warm milk
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. shredded cheese (opt.)

Or instant potato mix.

Fry onion in small amount of fat until tender but not brown. Add meat and seasonings; brown lightly. Add drained beans and soup. Pour into greased 1 1/2 quart casserole. Top with fluffy mashed potatoes, boil potatoes until done, drain, mash and add milk and egg, beaten. Drop by mounds onto casserole of ingredients. If desired, sprinkle cheese over top.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. (If using instant potato mix, make sure they are stiff to hold shape.) Serves 6.
