GRANDMA'S APPLE BUTTER 
9 c. unsweetened applesauce
2 or 3 c. sugar
1/3 c. vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
Sassafrass bark tied in cloth

Boil on high for 10 hours in 3 1/2 quart crockpot. Pack in hot jar while still very hot, and it will seal itself.
