MEATBALL STEW | |
1 1/2 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. fine, dry bread crumbs 2 tsp. instant minced onion 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 egg 2 tbsp. butter 2 c. thinly sliced carrots 6 med. potatoes, peeled and halved 1 can brown onion gravy 1/2 tsp. marjoram leaves Combine first 7 ingredients and 1/3 cup water in bowl. Mix well with hands and shape into 12 large balls. Brown meatballs in butter in Dutch oven. Remove meat and pour off fat. Add carrots, potatoes and 1/2 cup water to pan. Cover and simmer about 10 minutes. Add gravy and marjoram; stir and mix. Then add meatballs; cover and simmer 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Serves 4 to 6. |
