GREAT COUNTRY STYLE RIBS
Country style ribs, serving size
Vegetables, any kind, for seasoning
Barbecue sauce
freshly cracked black pepper
2 bay leaves
garlic and onion powder
salt and pepper, to taste

Simmer ribs for 1 hour in a large pot of water (or until tender).

Wash, peel and cut vegetables, cut into large chunks and add to pot (usually onions, carrots, cabbage, pepper, and garlic).

Remove from heat and sprinkle ribs lightly with garlic powder, onion powder, salt and cracked black pepper. On low heat, place ribs on grill, covered, for about 8 minutes on each side, or until browned; baste with favorite sauce.

Heat additional sauce and serve on the side. Remove vegetables when tender, using a slotted spoon and serve with ribs on a bed of lettuce.

Boiled ribs! Yech!!!!! If you boil pork, it will taste like boiled pork. Want tender country style ribs, use your favorite rub, let sit overnight, work up some heavy smoke in your grill and put a nice crust on them over medium-high heat for 15 to 20 minutes. then place in a pan or dish, coat in your favorite bbq sauce (I have also just used a tin foil pouch for small amounts, and place in a 225°F oven for around 2 to 3 hours, depending on quanitity. Will be as tender as boiled ribs without that boiled flavor. You can finish on a hot grill for a few minutes immediately before serving if you like.

Don't knock it till you try it! I was looking for a faster way to cook my ribs and these turned out very tender. After simmering for one hour I put on my favorite bbque sauce and finished under the broiler. Excellent!
