MONTE CRISTO 
Oil
15 slices of bread
5 slices ham
5 slices Swiss cheese
5 slices turkey

BATTER:

1 c. light cream
5 eggs
1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 1/4 c. sugar

In deep skillet heat 1" to 1 1/2" oil to 375 degrees.

Layer each sandwich with 1 slice of bread, ham, cheese, second slice of bread, turkey and third slice of bread. Secure with toothpicks.

In medium bowl beat cream and eggs together, add flour and sugar; beat well. Dip entire sandwich in batter, allow excess batter to drip into bowl. Fry in hot oil, until deep golden brown, turning once about 3 to 5 minutes; drain. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired. Serves 5.
