BRUNCH CASSEROLE 
8 slices stale white bread, cubed
3/4 c. melted butter
2 c. cubed, cooked ham
2 c. cooked broccoli or asparagus
2 c. (1/2 lb.) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
4 eggs
2 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
Mushrooms (opt.)

Cube bread, add butter and toss to coat well. In a large casserole or 9 x 13 inch pan, layer ingredients in the following order:

1/2 of the bread cubes, 1/2 of the cheese, 1/2 of the broccoli, all of the ham; repeat bread, cheese and broccoli.

Beat eggs and milk thoroughly with seasonings. Pour over layered casserole. Refrigerate overnight. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour, until puffy and nicely browned. Serves 6.
