KITTY'S CRISP SUGAR COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon extract (or juice)
1 tbsp. milk
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter, add sugar gradually and continue to cream until well blended. Add beaten eggs, flavorings, and milk. Sift flour with baking soda, powder and salt. Add to egg mixture. Mix well. Wrap in wax paper and refrigerate overnight. Roll dough out a little at a time. Cut with cookie cutters. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Frost with powdered sugar icing when cool.
