CHOCOLATE CARAMEL BROWNIES | |
1 c. butter 4 sq. (4 oz.) unsweetened chocolate 2 c. sugar 4 eggs 1 c. unbleached flour 1 pkg. Kraft caramels (unwrapped) 3 oz. sweetened condensed milk Put butter and chocolate in saucepan. Melt over low heat, stirring constantly. (Can also be melted in a microwave.) Add sugar and stir well. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time. Stir in flour. Set aside. Melt caramels and condensed milk in a saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Place half of brownie mixture in a greased 9 x 12 inch cake pan. Cook 5 minutes in preheated 375 degree oven. Spread caramel mixture over partially cooked brownies with a spatula. Cover with remaining brownie mixture. Cook 20 minutes. Cool and cut into squares. |
