PECAN CANDY 
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. evaporated milk
2 tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. nuts
Pinch of salt

Boil sugar, milk, and water until mixture thickens (to test whether it is thick enough, drop a drop in cold water - if drop hardens it is thick enough). Take off fire; add vanilla and nuts. Beat until it breaks off in the pan. Spread on wax paper or in a bowl. Let cool, then serve.
