1 c. corn meal
1 c. flour
1 c. sweet milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 large onion, grated
1 small can corn

Mix all ingredients together just before frying. Do not stir any more than absolutely necessary. Drop by tablespoonfuls into oil in electric frying pan or deep fryer heated to 400°F. Cook about 4 minutes on each side until hush puppies are golden brown. Drain on paper towels and keep warm.
