SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS
(Microwave)
 
1 lb. ground meat
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. water

SWEET SOUR SAUCE:

1 tbsp. butter
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 c. catsup
1 1/2 tbsp. packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. soy sauce

Combine all meatball ingredients in a medium mixing bowl. Mix well. Shape into 20 (1 inch) meatballs. Place meatballs in 9 inch round glass baking dish. Cover with wax paper. Microwave 8-9 minutes on medium high. Drain and let stand covered about 3 minutes.

During standing time for meatballs microwave sweet sour sauce by placing 1 tablespoon butter and 1 small onion, chopped in 1 quart glass casserole. Microwave 2 minutes on high or until onion is partly cooked. Microwave 2 minutes on high or until onion is partly cooked. Stir in 1 cup catsup, 1 1/2 tablespoon packed brown sugar, 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice and 1 tablespoon soy sauce.

Pour sauce over meatballs and continue cooking 3-5 minutes on medium high or until hot. Serve over rice or cooked noodles. 20 meatballs.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
