1 c. sugar
1/2 tbsp. shortening
2 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sour milk
1 level tsp. cream tartar
1 rounded tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Add enough flour to make soft dough.
